Meet the Staff
Ingrid Shick, DVM:
Dr. Shick received a BS in Biology and a BA in Art History from Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She attended the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, where she graduated in 2002. Ingrid is the Director of Medicine at OAR.
Lori Whitacre, DVM:
Dr. Whitacre has been with OAR's spay/neuter clinic since its inception in 2009. Prior to joining OAR's staff, Dr. Whitacre gained experience in high-volume spay/neuter at UCAN, and was trained in high-volume spay/neuter at Humane Alliance.
Jennifer Mahan, DVM:
Dr. Mahan joined the OAR team in July, 2013. She has volunteered her time and services to many local animal rescue organizations, and opened up her own small animal practice (Riverview Animal Hospital) in Bellevue in July, 2013.
Taylor Wheeldon, RVT:
Taylor joined OAR's surgical team in March, 2012. Taylor attended U.C. Veterinary Technology program, graduating in 2011. Taylor and her Boxer, Boris, also open their home to OAR foster cats.
Stephanie Bucher, Surgical Assistant:
Stephanie joined OAR's clinic staff in November, 2013 as a surgical assistant. Stephanie has previously worked at the SPCA Cincinnati, and shares her home with her beloved dogs, cats, and husband (she's a newlywed!).
Amanda Schlomer, Surgical Assistant:
Amanda joined OAR's clinic staff in August, 2014 as a surgical assistant. Amanda has extensive experience as a Veterinary Assisant and Veterinary Technician, including completing her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology.
Paula Menetrey, Surgery Staff Aide:
Paula has worked in both the front office and on the surgical team for OAR. In addition to being a key OAR staff member, Paula is also a talented artist (including pet portraits!).
Devon Smith, Clinic Director:
A native Vermonter, Devon moved to Cincinnati in 2011 to take a position at OAR. She served as the Executive Director for a TNR group in South Bend, Indiana before leaving for OAR, and has worked in animal rescue since 2001. In her previous life, Devon taught and studied theology at Notre Dame; herding cats isn't much different!
Katie Sharp, Community Cats Director:
Katie joined OAR's clinic staff in November, 2011, and took the position as the Community Cats Director in June, 2016. In addition to working on filling all the positions at OAR, Katie loves tuxies, peanut-butter filled pretzels, and paddle boarding.
Ashley Katz, Clinic Front Office:
Ashley joined the OAR team in December 2015 after moving to Cincinnati from Maryland. Aside from being an avid cat enthusiast, Ashley also loves Old Bay seasoning; Maryland crabs; Pokemon; comics; and funny cat t-shirts.
Laura Collins, Receptionist:
Laura joined the OAR team in July 2016, and in addition to saving cats, is a yoga instructor and a mean cook.
Nathan Schneider, Neuterville Express Transport Driver:
Nathan has been volunteering with OAR since 2009, and joined the clinic team in January, 2012. He provides a wonderful home to 3 OAR alumni cats.
